A person has been arrested by the Border Police in Rinas after attempting to smuggle firearms from Albania to Germany.
The Blues have seized a pistol with combat ammunition as material evidence, writes A2.
It is reported that the citizen is accused of the criminal offense of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition".
Police announcement:
As a result of dedicated controls, based on risk analysis and police intelligence information, intensified due to the influx of entry/exit, the Border Police services of the Rinas BCP, in cooperation with the security services at the Rinas airport, finalized the police operation codenamed "Transit", within the framework of which a case of an attempt to traffic firearms from Albania to Germany was foiled.
During this operation, the Albanian citizen with Canadian citizenship AQ, residing in Canada, was caught red-handed at the exit from Albania and was put in handcuffs.
From the scanner check, in the luggage of this citizen, 1 firearm, a pistol with combat ammunition, was found and seized as material evidence.
The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further action, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition". (A2 Televizion)
