Participation in a criminal organization that trafficked cocaine in Florence, Italy, during 2002-2003 has cost a 58-year-old man from Berat dearly.
The police announce that as part of the operation codenamed "Operation 23", Fatmir Isollari (alias Fatmir Cenka) was arrested today with the aim of extradition to a neighboring country.
He was sentenced by Italian authorities to 7 years in prison for participating in a criminal organization for drug trafficking.
"As a result of operational actions carried out after coordinating information with counterparts from the Italian Police, within the framework of the police operation "Operacionalja 23", the citizen: Fatmir Isollari alias Fatmir Cenka, 58 years old, resident of Berat, was located in the city of Berat, was arrested and put in handcuffs. This citizen was declared internationally wanted by the Interpol Directorate, after the Court of Appeal of Florence, Italy, in 2023, sentenced him to 7 years in prison, for participation in a criminal organization for trafficking in narcotics. During the period 2002-2003, this criminal organization trafficked 20 kg of cocaine from Albania to Florence", the police announced.
Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome have already begun work to finalize the procedures for the extradition of the 58-year-old. (A2 Televizion)
