For several days, the village of Dishnicë in the administrative unit of Bulgarec, Municipality of Korça, has been facing a situation aggravated by fires that continue to be active. The flames have engulfed significant areas of forests and bushes, causing serious damage to the environment.
The intervention to isolate the fires has faced great difficulties due to the rugged mountainous terrain, which prevents firefighting vehicles from entering the areas most affected by the flames. Despite this, the field operation is continuing with maximum commitment, writes A2 CNN.
A total of 87 forces have been deployed to help, of which 45 are members of the Armed Forces. 9 different firefighting and auxiliary vehicles have also been used, while emergency structures are coordinating actions to contain the further spread of the fire.
High temperatures and strong winds have negatively affected efforts to contain the flames. Local authorities have requested additional forces on the ground and are continuing to closely monitor the situation to prevent the fires from spreading further.
