A fire broke out this morning in the area of the village of Sevasteri in Vlora.
Sources for A2 CNN indicate that the intervention to extinguish the flames was very difficult, due to the terrain.
It is also reported that the flames have advanced significantly, burning a significant area of vegetation, trees and shrubs.
The situation in the area is being monitored by the Selenica fire department and if the fire worsens, air intervention will be requested.
High temperatures and strong winds in the area are favoring the spread of the flames. The fire is located high up near Mount Sevaster, while intervention from the ground is almost impossible due to the terrain.
It is suspected that the fire was intentionally set to open pastures, creating a problematic situation in the area. There are stables near the fire, which are at risk from the flames, while there is currently no danger to homes.
