In the exhibition "Marubi Dynasty; One Hundred Years of the Albanian Photographic Studio" opened at the Gallery of the capital, the public has the opportunity to get to know some of the collections of Pietro, Kel and Gegë Marubi.
Images from 1865-1959 with over 150 thousand negative glass plates of the “Marubi” National Museum in Shkodra are traveling this end of February in Tirana. A dynasty, founded by Giovanni Marubi, who came to Shkodra in 1856 to become one of the most important witnesses of events in Albania, and which was later continued and developed by his descendants, is narrated through these images.
One of the most important moments of the Marubi dynasty is the realization of the first nude photograph in Albania. This photo, which was realized by Kolë Marubi, became an important event in the history of Albanian photography.
Since the establishment of the "Marubi" studio in Shkodra, the Marubi dynasty has had an extraordinary role in documenting the historical events and moments that have determined the fate of Albania. (A2 Televizion)
