One of the best comedians in Albania, Zef Deda is dead. The artist died at the age of 73 from a serious illness, but his smile beyond any analysis he made of the Albanian society will remain unforgettable.
For almost 4 decades, he devoted himself to the theater scene, in his hometown of Shkodër. Although he was educated at the construction polytechnic in Tirana, the connection with the stage, with television and the public of Albania was so strong that none of the events that marked the life of this artist would affect this relationship.
The artist who rarely showed that during the dictatorship he had suffered not only the pressures, but also to the point of hospitalization in the terrible hospitals of the time of torture, the comedian who rarely showed that he emigrated for a better life, always returned with a smile to his audience .
Known for his roles, mainly as the brother-in-law of friend Xhemal, or for the extraordinary plasticity of an Albanian actor who could imitate the magic of Charlie Chaplin, Zef Deda remains in the memory of Albanians as one of the rare stage artists who left a great wealth, as well as the artistic spirit that he passed on to his two sons, Juli and Mario, both well-known artists in the country.
