The book “Voskopojë and the World Around It”. A documented history is presented to the reader 15 years after the first edition titled The Century of Voskopojës. Now, in its second edition, the book is a deeply revised and expanded volume with numerous materials, comprising more than 200 new pages.
So, a new study, undertaken by historian Pëllumb Xhufi within the framework of his professional ambition to put on solid scientific foundations the history of a city that, as is rare, has been targeted to dehistoricize and turn it into an icon of nationalist mythology.
In this book, the author has significantly expanded the source and bibliographical base, thanks to new research conducted in foreign archives and libraries. Based on these, the mythology of the "island", which has been attributed to Voskopoja by militant historians of many causes, turns out to be unhistorical and completely fictional.
On the contrary, the history of that city is integrated into its natural habitat, which is the Albanian one, with the geomorphological, ethnocultural and religious diversity that characterizes it. (A2 Televizion)
