Today, leftists celebrated the 34th anniversary of the creation of the Socialist Party of Albania, reports A2 CNN.
Present at the meeting held in front of the Socialist Party headquarters in Tirana, Prime Minister Edi Rama thanked those present and those who have contributed to the Socialist Party over the years.
Rama said during his speech that the focus of the new Parliament's work during these 4 years will be the country's membership in the European Union.
This process, according to the Prime Minister, will extend to the entire territory and will also include local government units, writes A2 CNN.
"We have no reason not to be confident. We have a new team with not a few, but 83 MPs. And more than the number is the composition of the team, the harmonization of experience with new arrivals and the better distribution than ever of the weight of representation in each territory, which give this new team the ability to cope with the great weight that it will have to bear in these years, when the Parliament will have to become the main pillar of the EU membership process, for the very content that the process has.
On the other hand, I believe that as a result of good organization throughout the territory, we also have an extremely promising support team in all administrative units and all areas where the Socialist Party has been engaged during these months in support of groups of candidates for deputies. The main value of this team is its human resources, where we will have to carefully select the best possible ones. The membership process is not a simple government process, but a process extended throughout the territory, which also includes local government units.
If we do the right thing at every step and address it as a national priority of the SP, we will give a great strength to the SP in the territory, based on the most prepared people. I want to thank everyone present, my eyes went to Frrok Çupi and Ylli Rakipi. Ylli Rakipi stays away to say that I am not with you.
