The Electoral College has rejected the appeal of the Democratic Party for the Lezha and Gjirokastra districts. The request of the DP-ASHM for electoral invalidity was not accepted by the judges, leaving the results for these electoral zones in force.
The Democrats submitted the request, arguing with allegations that there were attempts to manipulate votes, including those of the Diaspora, in these two districts.
In the May 11 elections, the DP defeated the SP in Lezha, securing 4 mandates against the majority's 3. Meanwhile, in Gjirokastra, the Socialists triumphed, with the Democrats fielding only Tritan Shehu as an MP from the closed list.
We remind you that the Electoral College is the last link where the result can be appealed. This means that today's decision officially certifies the result produced by the May 11 electoral process for the Lezhë and Gjirokastër regions. (A2 Televizion)
