"If violations of the law are verified and affect the result, any type of vote can be declared invalid." This was the answer given by Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi to A2 CNN journalist Ervin Koçi, when asked if there is a legal basis for voting from abroad to be declared invalid, mainly that with Greece after accusations from the opposition.
Celibashi guarantees that what the CEC has prepared in this process is in full integrity, but the way in which voters from abroad voted remains up for debate.
"What I can say is, I do not give a judgment on the validity, no, but I can say with complete certainty that what the CEC has administered and prepared with this process has produced complete integrity for that competence of the CEC. The discussion remains as to how voters from abroad voted, but at the moment that each one has placed the ballot in the respective envelope and it has arrived at the CEC, nothing has violated the integrity of this electoral documentation."
But on the other hand, Celibashi emphasizes, they are within their rights and have the legitimacy to seek and clarify anyone who has claims about this process.
"We have all the answers to every possible question. We had a discussion the day before yesterday with several representatives of the electoral subjects." (A2 Televizion)
