Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Skopje today on the second day of the meeting on the EU-Western Balkans growth plan. During his stay there, he met with the leader of the DUI, Ali Ahmeti. The latter has shared photos from the meeting on social networks, which he calls fraternal and says that he spoke with the head of the Albanian government about the threats to the Ohrid Agreement, interethnic relations in the country and the strengthening of state relations between North Macedonia and Albania.
“Fraternal meeting in Skopje with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, within the framework of the Conference on the European Union.
At a time when Albania is on an irreversible path towards membership in the European Union, we reiterated that North Macedonia must also be part of this path. The European future of the region is shared, there is no division in this process.
We discussed:
– Serious threats to the Ohrid Agreement;
– Interethnic relations in the country;
– The importance of strengthening state relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Albania.
This was a sincere meeting, with political and fraternal depth, in the service of equality and a European perspective.
"I thank Prime Minister Rama for his continued support for equality and North Macedonia's European path," Ahmeti wrote.
