Sali Berisha, during a meeting with Albanian emigrants in Milan, declared that the year 2025 will be the year of the diaspora and the victory of the opposition.
The leader of the Democratic Party added that "in 10 years, 45% of Albanians have left the country."
"Albania has become a country where citizens are escaping poverty and misery, like never before since the Stalinist dictatorship. But everything has an end. Dictatorships do not live forever," Berisha said.
The DP leader called on Albanian emigrants to register and vote on May 11, describing this act as one of the most precious gifts they can give to the nation and their families: "History repeats itself. In 1992, Albanians with their vote overthrew the most brutal dictatorship in Europe. Back then, students were the promoters of change. Today, in 2025, it is you, the Albanians of the diaspora, who will become the promoters of the victory of the DP and the Albanian opposition."
