Mayor Erion Veliaj has reacted again from prison, where he has been for 3 weeks after the communication of the security measure imposed on February 12. In his next reaction, the mayor continues his accusations against SPAK prosecutor Olsi Dado, who, according to Veliaj, is treating his social networks as a crime scene.
Veliaj points out that he is accused of publishing photos of Preljocaj's performances on his Facebook and Instagram, a project that he claims was directed by him and not by the mayor's family.

Since injustice never rests, you'll understand if today I have to dismantle another accusation, this time related to my Facebook and Instagram, hence the title "why did you let me 'see'" - the pathetic reaction of teenagers on social media when someone ignores them.
This is exactly how Ols Dado reacts when he treats the Mayor's official Facebook and Instagram as a crime scene!

"From the inspection report dated 21.01.2025, compiled by the investigator of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), it results that on the social network "Instagram", at the address "Erion Veliaj", a post made by the latter on September 20, 2023 is recorded. This post is related to the event that will be organized on 23.09-22.10.2023 "International Contemporary Dance Festival". Following the text, the calendar of performances is also published. The post contains 8 photographs/advertisements/posters in total, one after the other. The festival is under the artistic direction of the well-known choreographer of Albanian origin, Angjelin Preljocaj."
Yes, yes, you read it yourself! The Facebook and Instagram pages are treated as crime scenes, as if it were the Bataclan where the terrorists killed or the scene of the MH17 flight, which they found after so many years. "Inspection", "report", "evidenced", "resulting in so many posters and photos", as if to say "so many killed and so many wounded".
What an insult to anyone's intelligence! I mean, I'm accused of publishing photos of Preljocaj's performances on my Facebook and Instagram, who they themselves admit was directing the project and not my family members.
First, every mayor posts cultural and artistic activities of the city and I don't even believe I have to explain this. I found Tirana with 10 events a year, today there are over 1 thousand quality activities a year. They post as much as possible to inform the public and foreigners who come as tourists. The most normal thing in the world.
Secondly, Preljocaj and his troupe are a dream for every city, and not only would every city finance them, but they would promote them with trumpets and horns, with banners and advertisements everywhere, especially Tirana.
But, thirdly, since I have to explain with the idiotic logic of the Facebook and Instagram investigation, it turns out that the post was not even made by me myself, but by the press office staff, as is usually the case for many municipalities and ministries. It is enough to look at the screenshots of the posts to understand that this post, about Preljocaj's ballet, was also made by the press office staff - although now that I understand how "serious a crime" it was, I wish I had done it myself, but I was in the US on a business trip at the time.
Meanwhile, in this photo album you will see dozens of posts that promoted various artistic, cultural and sporting activities that took place in Tirana, in the same month when Preljocaj's ballet was performed.
How insulting that after the anonymous letters, the announcement of "conviction" without trial, the houses in Yrshek, the meetings with architects, I have to explain the staff's routine posts on Facebook and Instagram, in this 20-year vetting, which has never been done to anyone before. A bunch of "why did they let me 'see'" nonsense.
