Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has accused the government of exercising inhumane violence against political prisoner Ilir Meta. He also said that an investigation should be conducted into the case of Erion Veliaj.
"I urgently ask the Ombudsman to meet with political prisoner Ilir Meta and make public all the inhumane attitudes ordered by Edi Rama and Ulsi Manja by the uniformed thugs within the prison institution against the former president and former prime minister of the country," Berisha said, writes A2 CNN.
"But today I also have to denounce the data I have that there is inhumane behavior even towards the ordinary prisoner, Erion Veliaj. The Democratic Party has made dozens and dozens of protests for the arrest of this delinquent, who has not been charged with even 20 percent of the crimes he has committed. But, whoever the prisoner is, his treatment in accordance with the rules and the code of treatment of prisoners, is the necessary standard for every member state of the Council of Europe", Berisha added.
