There will no longer be any pensioner with a pension lower than 200 euros. This promise was made again by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha from Pecini, where he presented the candidates of the Democratic Party and the Alliance for a Greater Albania.
"This Albania has become unlivable, because pensioners, who have melted their lives, are today treated in the most heartless way, today they are treated with an average pension of 172 euros, which 12 years ago was 143 euros. With a pension that today, compared to 13 years ago, buys 2 and a half times less. With a pension that to buy what was bought in 2013, would have had to be 390 thousand lekë", said Berisha.
According to him, this is an injustice that must be stopped immediately. He also promised that the minimum wage will be no less than 500 euros, while the average wage will reach 1250 euros. Teachers, according to him, will no longer be paid below 1500 euros.
Describing this as an "epochal change", Berisha called for citizens to unite in support of the opposition to overthrow, as he said, a system that has produced poverty and mass emigration.
"I assure you that on May 11, with your vote, you will make an epochal change because after May 11, in the first 100 days, there will be no salaried employee with a salary lower than 500 euros in Albania. And that the average salary will be 1250 euros. There will be no teacher with a salary below 1500 euros."
In his speech, Berisha also highlighted the lack of support for farmers, who he said have been neglected and cannot compete with neighboring countries. He criticized the Rama government for mismanagement of the budget and for priorities that do not serve the citizens.
