While the European Political Community summit is taking place in Tirana with the participation of all leaders of Europe and beyond, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, is in Brussels at the International Democratic Union (IDU) Forum.
"You never get to Europe with stolen votes, farcical elections and a narco-state," Berisha said on social media after his speech at the forum.
A2 CNN reports that during his speech, Berisha said that he had informed the IDU Executive Board about the May 11 elections, which according to him were a clear farce.
"These elections were held in a climate of unprecedented political terror, where the Prime Minister, who now leads a narco-state, the first and only narco-state in Europe, in order to secure a fourth mandate, put three leaders of the main opposition parties in prison, under house arrest or under criminal prosecution, stripped mayors of their mandates and imprisoned opposition MPs," Berisha said.
He has asked for support, saying "I again ask for support from governments, from the IDU, the PPE, the CDI and the governments in power so that my nation can vote freely."
