On Monday at 12:00, the meeting of the National Integration Council was scheduled, where the EU Delegation's Charge d'Affaires Luigi Soreca was expected to present the EU Progress Report for 2023.
It seems that the determination of the opposition MPs not to allow the normal functioning of the Assembly until the fulfillment of their conditions for the respect of constitutional rights, has forced the Assembly to notify the members of the cancellation of the meeting.
Through an official e-mail, the members were notified that the planned meeting is cancelled. The National Integration Council is co-chaired by the democratic deputy Jorida Tabaku and the socialist deputy Toni Gogu, and it is composed of the chairmen of the parliamentary groups, the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the parliamentary committees.
It is not yet known who requested the cancellation of this meeting, but Ambassador Soreca will not have the opportunity to report to the Assembly on the report on Albania, where, among other things, it was evident that Investigative Commissions are a constitutional right of the opposition and that the exclusion of MPs opposition is an unprecedented act.
