Amidst the smoke and flames that engulfed the Parliament, 5 minutes were enough for the majority to vote this Monday with 83 votes in favor of the law for the 2024 budget.

Speaker Lindita Nikolla hastened to call the vote, at the moment when a fire broke out in the hall of plenary sessions, from the cigarette lighters used by the opposition MPs.

Regarding the way the budget was voted, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha told the media outside the Assembly hall that it was the ugliest scene in the 32-year history of parliamentary life.

According to Berisha, the socialists voted in horror, since the opposition legislators made it impossible to speak about the biggest theft that is being done to Albanians.

We came here to block the process, so that the budget, this fundamental act of the year in Parliament, would take all the dimensions it deserves. They passed it within 7 minutes in fear and terror. Nobody voted. There is no evidence of the vote except for the parrot-like tweeting of Edi Rama's servant in Parliament, Lindita Nikolla.
