Sali Berisha sees his return to power as an opportunity to rebuild the Albanian dream, according to him, by supporting families with extra funds, but also to bring back hundreds of thousands of Albanians who have left the country.
"These hundreds of thousands of Albanians who have left this country, some of them are qualified, some of them are businessmen, today very successful in those countries. Others are researchers, scientists, experts, specialists. But the vast majority of them are workers, ordinary people, who stay in those countries because they receive a better salary, their work is better paid. They work in agriculture, they work in hard work, so we will do everything for them to return to Albania. Their savings will be successful in this country."
During the presentation of the 2025-2029 government program, Berisha focused in particular on qualified Albanians who have left the country.
He stated that the right-wing government will help returning immigrants by allocating soft loans, grants, but also through the 5-year tax-free initiative.
"A period of 5 years will be tax-free. But this is not the only measure for their smooth return to Albania. Favorable loans are needed, grants are needed for their start-ups. So, if in 2009-2013 about 180 thousand emigrants returned, we must do everything for a rapid reversal of the current situation so that their return can begin. The program in this area, or the success of our program in this area, is also the most important barometer of achieving the objectives of our future government."
Berisha also said that every Albanian family will be assisted by the government for the first child with a monthly payment. According to the DP leader, the second and third child, from birth to the age of 23, will be fully covered by the state. (A2 Televizion)
