With 60 days left until the May 11 elections and on the eve of the officialization of the list of candidates in these elections, Prime Minister Edi Rama convened the Assembly of Kavaja and Vora today. He emphasized the geopolitical importance of these elections and called for every vote to be taken for the Socialist Party to make the European dream a reality. Rama announced that when we enter the EU, Albania will receive 1 billion euros every year and Albanians will be equal to Europeans, reports A2 CNN.
"I want to emphasize the fact that it is very important for every leader, part of the SP leadership, which means for every delegate, organization head, for each of you to keep in mind the importance of these elections, not only for the SP, but for Albania. After the 91-92 elections, these are the first elections that have a geopolitical weight and that directly link the European destiny of our country. Today, the conditions have been created for us to enter the EU as a result of the matching of our circumstances with those of the EU, and for the first time, the opportunity to become part of the EU is real. We have a calendar for negotiations that is the fastest calendar that has been given to us to close the negotiations in 2027 and enter and become members of the EU. This means that Albania will move to another level, starting from the individual and the Albanian passport which will no longer be what it is as an opportunity to move, but without the opportunity to stay and without receiving health reimbursements like being in your own country, we enter and become an equal part of that family. Each speaks their own language, but we are united by legislation where our country's budget will also receive a strong increase from EU support. Throughout all these years we have received 630 million euros by becoming a member we will receive over 1 billion every year, 330 million for agriculture alone".
But according to Rama, "this may not happen if on May 11 Albania does not vote strongly for the SP and to continue a process that is not just words, but daily work with endless tasks. There are 1,000 people working on this job, 40 teams of negotiators. They are like in an exam and they give an account of what Albania has done. Every minute is valuable and should not be wasted. A 6-month slip is enough and that opportunity can disappear right there. We were ready but they were not ready."
A2 CN reports that the socialist leader emphasized that an EU passport cannot be given to Kujtim Gjuzi or for being a fan of the Democratic Party.
"It will no longer be the Republic of Albania but the European Union, the Republic of Albania. There will no longer be a queue to check our passports. We will enter the same way as the French, Germans, Italians, equals. How can this be left now for fandom, no I am with the DP, no I am with Kujtim Gjuzi. Kujtim is the best there, but apart from the mustache there is nothing else. Every vote must be taken for the SP. On May 11, we will present them with a magnificent "rock night".
