Two polling stations in the Municipality of Vora have released the election results even though they had not yet received confirmation from the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi. In Vora and in unit 10 in Tirana, the counting is done electronically, but according to Celibashi, political parties have requested that it be published after the process of tabulating the results for the CEAZs where voting was done manually has begun, writes A2 CNN. “We will have this result tomorrow morning, at 8 or 9 am,” said Celibashi.
The results printed in these two centers, in the village of Domje, show a dominance of the Socialist Party, with 222 votes, while the Democratic Party and its coalition received only 73 votes.
After the results were announced, a fireworks celebration began in Vora by Socialist Party supporters. Blerim Shera, the mayor of Vora, also a Socialist, said that Vora had chosen Edi Rama. “We have been working for this result for a long time, it is not a coincidence,” he told reporters.
But with the publication of the results of 4 other voting centers, the Democratic Party appears to have emerged in the lead with a small number of votes, 522 to 501. (A2 Televizion)
