The Council of Ministers also approved 3 important draft laws at its last meeting for the ratification of financing agreements with the European Commission, under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III). These agreements include multi-annual programs in the energy, youth employment and development of the digital economy and society sectors, for the period 2024–2027.
The first draft law proposed by the Prime Minister and approved by the Council of Ministers focuses on the ratification of the agreement for the financing of the Operational Program for Energy. This program will help Albania improve energy efficiency and promote renewable sources, in line with the EU directives for the green transition.
The second draft law relates to the Operational Programme for Youth Employment. The agreement aims to support the integration of young people into the labour market, through vocational training, job placement and the promotion of new entrepreneurship. This programme directly addresses the challenges of youth unemployment, contributing to the development of human capital.
The third draft law concerns the ratification of the agreement on the Digital Economy and Society Program. This agreement aims to increase access to technology and strengthen digital infrastructure, in an effort to bring Albania closer to the digital standards of the European Union.
All three draft laws are expected to be reviewed and approved by the Albanian Parliament.
