The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Ermonela Felaj, was invited to the "Diary" of A2CNN where she commented on the latest political developments and the vote on the 2024 budget amid tensions and smoke from flares lit by opposition MPs in Parliament.
In her judgment, the opposition action by some MPs following Sali Berisha is violent.
" Some people have lost the reason why they are in the Parliament and what their being in the Parliament should serve for and they follow Berisha ", said Felaj.
Regarding the way the Guard of the Republic reacted to the actions of the democratic deputies, Felaj said that the officers were restrained by implementing the regulation.
She even went further by revealing that in one of the plenary sessions, former Interior Minister Flamur Noka threatened the life of one of the Guard's employees and his children.
" I assure that the Guard is always in the hall for order and security. The Garda Act obliges him to do this duty. To secure the premises of the Assembly of Albania and other institutions when they are affected by violent actions. The Guard has done this by naturally refraining from performing its duty, as it is not easy to be proportional to the actions of some opposition MPs. I don't know if you followed how the Noka flag threatens the life of one of the members of the Guard. It threatens his life and his children. Employees were beaten and threatened with their lives in the Assembly hall. This is not with the Socialist Party, but with the employees. These types of behavior are penalized by the criminal law.
