The political leader of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Lulzim Basha, accompanied by MP Oriola Pampuri, held meetings with businesses in Unit 9, in Tirana, to learn about the problems they face.
A saleswoman at a neighborhood store told Basha that purchasing power has dropped significantly due to rising prices. According to her, even though we are in 2025, citizens continue to shop with lists like they did 20 years ago.
"Work has fallen a bit, it's weak to be honest, work has fallen a lot. Food, fruits, vegetables, dairy products are very expensive. People are struggling, some with money, some without money, when they get their salaries, they bring their pensions. With lists, all with lists, just like 20 years ago. Refer to this, I'm in the middle of Tirana, then imagine what it's like in the suburbs" - said the saleswoman.
After listening to the concerns, Basha said that there is a deep deterioration as many people have been laid off because businesses are in difficulty.
"There is a deep deterioration, and many people have lost their jobs. I was in a tailoring shop yesterday, they are under extraordinary pressure. 20-30 thousand women may have left tailoring shops alone, mainly in the last 10 months. They used to bring home 400-500 thousand lek, now they don't bring any more. The same thing with agriculture, because they can't make it and they leave their jobs," he said.
Basha said that the cause of this situation is the fact that the economy is in the hands of a handful of people. For this, he said that the choice on May 11 is either the money in the pockets of citizens, 'or in the pockets of Rama and his friends at 7x7-313'.
"Everything is in the hands of a handful of people. Even the lek is in the hands of a handful of people. Therefore, on May 11, the choice is this, either they will have the lek, or we will return the lek to the economy, return it to the people, return it to pensions, return it to salaries so that consumption increases, so that small businesses and businesses in general can start to breathe. That the lek cannot be in Edi Rama's pockets and in your pockets. For us, it is clear, his friends at 7x7-313, the lek in your pockets" - Basha said.
During the meetings, there were also those citizens who expressed the need to abandon the transition policy. While Basha said that a vote for Rama is to free his comrades from prison and a vote for Berisha is to free Meta. According to him, only a vote for the Euro-Atlantic Coalition is for supporting business.
Citizen: "Will we overthrow Rama with Saliu?"
Basha: "Definitely yes. Both, because they support each other. You voted for Rama, you voted to get his friends out of prison, you voted for Ilir to get Ilir Meta out of prison. The only vote left is us and support for business, 4, the Euro-Atlantics."
There was also no shortage of jokes from citizens who expressed their support for number 4 of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition with campaign phrases: "Pizza for all four seasons," said the citizen. (A2 Televizion)
