Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that he is the only Albanian leader who has the leaders of the European Union on his mobile phone.
Rama made the comments in the 'Sy m'Sy' column with his followers on social networks, where he said that this is a story for the books and cannot be told as long as he is in office.
According to Rama, due to these personal relationships, institutional relationships, and intergovernmental relationships created during his government with the EU, the Socialist Party should receive a strong mandate on May 11, to advance the integration process.
"Albania's interest is before party fanfare. Edi Rama is today the prime minister and I and the Socialist Party guarantee that we close the negotiations and enter the EU, for all the levels that we have managed to have in the relationship with Europe. From the state levels, to the governmental levels, to the institutional and personal ones. There has been no leader in Albania who has the other leaders of Europe on his mobile phone. But this is a story for books, it is not a story to be told today that I am in office.
And if I have to tell them once, then I will tell them. So it doesn't matter if the SP will win mathematically. The point is that the SP gets a strong mandate, so that no one can stand in the way of joining Europe.
