The Democratic Party began gathering evidence on Tuesday to prove what it called an "electoral farce."
At the "Fahrie Hoti" sports palace, 94 ballot boxes from Gramsh and Peqin were opened, where the ballots in the boxes were compared with the election materials. Democrats noticed problems in some of them.
Despite these problems, the DP representative in the KAS, Indrit Cefa, said that it is still too early to draw conclusions. Cefa said that a recount for these areas would not be productive at the moment.
The Complaints and Sanctions Commission will then decide whether the findings of the verification process constitute sufficient evidence to declare the Elbasan district result invalid. The recount process will begin on Wednesday with the Tirana district.
The Democratic Party claims the 14th mandate to seat Ilir Alimehmet in parliament, while hope is also restored for several socialist candidates who lost their mandate by a handful of votes. (A2 Televizion)
