"Companies willing to pay very high salaries", Rama: We support

At the Extended Assembly of the Socialist Party in Tirana, Prime Minister Edi Rama has again touched on the issue of salaries, emphasizing that the average salary of 900 euros will be pushed from the state budget to go even further, in order to affect salaries in the private sector.

"Today, Albanian companies are ready to pay much higher wages. That 900 euro salary that we will increase by pushing it with the state budget for the sector, it will not be discussed that there will be another salary increase in the private sector, as happened with this year's salaries", said Rama.

Further, the prime minister added that the government will strengthen professional education, while adding that emigration has already changed and young people should stay in Albania for a better life.

"The contradiction is the willingness of companies to pay salaries much higher than those paid until a few years ago and higher than those declared, but this is another part of the problem, with the lack of people who have enough knowledge for the job for which they are required. We will address this contradiction by strengthening vocational education, raising the awareness of parents, in the first place, of children who are not inclined to do major studies and who go to high school and get average or low grades to direct them to professional education. The time when young people could go to Europe and have there an offer incomparable to the one here is gone, as the offer there has deteriorated drastically. This has happened because there is nothing left at the end of the month for those who start to do an ordinary job, here we are not talking about doctors or those who do high category professions", said Rama.
