The last session of this legislature has started with tensions, after Democratic MP Zheni Gjergji took the floor to speak about the fire in the waste field in Elbasan. But the Speaker of the Assembly did not allow her, arguing that it was not a procedural matter.
After this, the Democratic MP blocked the podium for a few minutes and engaged in debates with Spiropali.
"The fire in Elbasan is a strong alarm about the dramatic state of the environment and a consequence of the failure of the incinerator project," declared Gjergji.
"Don't abuse the procedure...", Spiropali replied, reports A2 CNN.
The Assembly holds the last plenary session of the 10th legislature today. The deputies will continue to hold their mandate until September, when the next legislature will be constituted, but from next week they will no longer have the 'power' to approve laws.
The session began at 10:00 and on the agenda are a number of draft laws, including the National Strategy against Foreign Interventions, which received the "OK" a few days ago in the Disinformation Committee, as well as the normative act on changes to the 2025 budget. Also on the agenda is the annual report of the National Council for European Integration (KKIE) for 2024, writes A2 CNN.
In addition to the agenda, discussions are also expected about the May 11 elections, which the opposition has described as an electoral farce. (A2 Televizion)
