The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, shared details from the meeting in Valencia with the leaders of the European People's Parties, where a resolution for free elections in Albania was also adopted. In an interview on Debat by Alba Alishani on A2 CNN, he said that those present did not believe how the incinerators' money was stolen.

"They have disappeared like no other case, so flagrant and so completely, in history. 130 million euros! No one believes it... I was in Valencia, people were flabbergasted, prime ministers, government officials, they told me it was impossible. Edi Rama will show him where he got them and they will be found penny by penny. Today Dumani is defending him", said Berisha.

On April 30, the European People's Parties (EPP) adopted an emergency resolution on Albania during their congress held in Valencia, raising the alarm about the integrity of the electoral process and the state of democracy in the country, on the eve of the parliamentary elections on May 11, writes A2 CNN.

The resolution, titled “Electoral Integrity in Albania,” was proposed by the Democratic Party of Albania and was based on reports by the OSCE/ODIHR, Transparency International, the World Justice Project, and the U.S. Department of State. The document highlights a number of serious concerns related to electoral manipulation, pressure on the opposition, and the use of the state for partisan interests.

A few days later, Prime Minister Edi Rama called the resolution adopted by the European People's Parties this week, linking Albania's European future to free elections, "a bog sheet." "It's a bog sheet. I know very well how party conferences that all come together work. A party inserts a text there, it's written from beginning to end by the group of frogs who deal with this topic, and they pass it over. But in the meantime, I would like to inform you that all the prime ministers of those parties who were at that meeting, as well as the president of the EC and the chairman of the EC, etc., will be in Tirana on May 16. And the fact that they are coming to Tirana to hold the European Political Community Summit speaks very clearly about what Albania is today," Rama said on "Off the Record" with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.
