The Committee for the Organization and Control of Electoral Operations (KOKOE) in the Democratic Party (DP) has announced that the election process for the 2025 Primaries for the May 11 Assembly was successfully organized on March 1, emphasizing that voting took place in all DP branches, starting at 8:00 and ending at 18:00 in most Voting Centers.
In some centers, voting continued until the last DP member in line voted, according to the announcement.
The turnout in these elections has reached a record high, reaching 50,854 voters, according to preliminary data received electronically. According to KOKOE Decision No. 36, an original copy of the minutes of the closing of voting must be submitted to KOKOE by 12:00 on March 2, while the submission of election materials by the Counting Commissions must be completed by 13:00 on the same day. KOKOE further announced that it has received most of the election materials and is awaiting other materials, which have been delayed due to the prolonged counting process in some branches. All materials will be reviewed and decisions on the results of the Primary Elections at the District level will be published in due course, writes A2.
However, two Voting Centers in Tirana and one in Vlora have encountered problems that require a decision by the KOKOE. Any results are considered preliminary, and where the results of the Voting Centers are missing, they will be considered non-final until the final decision is announced by the KOKOE.
KOKOE is standing by to verify the election materials in the order of arrival, and the final results will be published only after verification of the original election materials and KOKOE's decisions on the cases mentioned above. (A2 Televizion)
