"Nothing new from the last meeting on May 27 with SPAK prosecutors." This is what Freedom Party president Ilir Meta said immediately after the official closure of SPAK's investigations into his criminal files, following his arrest on October 21, 2024.
In his reaction on social media, he called the investigations fabricated and launched in December 2019.
As his lawyer stated a few minutes ago, Meta also emphasizes that he has strongly raised the request to investigate who had made the illegal payments on behalf of the former LSI to the company in the US and to whom he was sending the invoices for approval in the Freedom Party, the GSIS company.
"I welcome the official closure of the fabricated investigation launched in December 2019. Nothing new from the last meeting on May 27 with SPAK prosecutors.
"We strongly and officially raised the request to responsibly investigate who made illegal payments on behalf of the LSI to companies in the US and secondly, to whom they sent the invoices for approval in the Freedom Party, the company GSIS," Meta writes.
On the contrary, according to him, "the failure to investigate these two directions is only a consequence of a political dictate, since from a legal and professional point of view this is the simplest thing that can be done and should have been done two years ago ," Meta writes.
