From Vlora, the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, together with Prime Minister Edi Rama, are holding a meeting with tour operators and mayors of coastal municipalities on preparations for the 2025 summer season.
Minister Kumbaro, while speaking about the plan of measures, explained that this year we will have 973 public beach stations.
"This year, we have 973 public beach stations like never before, also the rule that in 1 km of coastline 300 meters should be public. In order not to be only on the public side, because investors are the engine of development, we have given priority to businesses with serious accommodation investments. Priority has been given to accommodation structures with categorization by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment. It has not been an easy process, even though it is a new process. We have also been in weekly communication with the mayors of the municipalities. Beach stations should not be the main business. The main business is sustainable tourism, the beach is an accessory to create experiences for tourists. The plan of measures is ready for this summer season, a task force has been established", explained Minister Kumbaro.
Regarding expectations for 2025, Minister Kumbaro said: "As reported by operators from ITB BERLIN, contracts were not only for 2025, but now also for 2026 and reservations have begun for 2027. We have over 700 certified guides as an indicator of increasing standards."
At the end of her speech, Minister Kumbaro stated that the new changes increase the responsibilities of municipalities for the management of public territories, emphasizing cleanliness and security measures. (A2 Televizion)
