Albania and Montenegro will be, according to Prime Minister Edi Rama, the two newest members of the European Union in the near future.
While presenting the team of candidates for Tirana, Rama said that we have a real opportunity for integration like never before and according to him, the Socialist Party can achieve the objective within 2030.
"For the first time, we have a real and current opportunity to become a member of the EU. We haven't had it for some time because despite our duties and work, one country has come forward once, another once and they have said no. We wanted to, they didn't want to. What they have repeated to us is that the future is with us, you have to work harder. But I am a witness, never before have I seen what I see today and heard what I hear today, their desire for this to happen. Every time they told us no, I told them we would continue working. This is not enough, those who want to and they want to expand the EU need to give a message that the EU is expanding and there are only two countries that can join quickly, Albania and Montenegro. It is clear why they want to because the world is in a different situation," said Rama.
Clinging to this major objective, Rama demanded that the vote on May 11 not go to waste and not be cast anywhere other than at the Socialist Party logo.
"With this team, we have given them a bouquet. We have given young men and women the opportunity to make their choice by being part of this team. With all our capacities, we have built the newest party that is today on the ballot for Tirana. A new party, but a proven watermelon that also has the experience of these years of governance within itself, giving the citizens of Tirana the opportunity to look ahead through the new and feel confident that our path forward is guaranteed through experience. Casting a vote anywhere other than at the PS ballot box is to cast a vote in vain", declared the head of government. (A2 Televizion)
