From Berat, while presenting the candidates for deputies of the district that produces 7 legislators for the Albanian Parliament, the leader of the majority, Edi Rama, was careful to point out a boundary of his own.
The message was directly aimed at left-wing mayors, who were reminded that on May 11th, the most important thing is the vote for the SP and they should be the "guardians" of the race, so that one or the other candidate from the open list is not favored.
"You should not interfere in the race. You should give all candidates on the list the opportunity to have a race without interference from the mayors. Keep this in mind. It is not about deputies from one area or another. Of course, they are elected according to the areas to have a wider representation. If Ardiani is elected from an area, he will not be the deputy of that area specifically but of the entire Berat district. This applies to everyone. So it is everyone's right to have a preference, but keep this in mind. I have a problem when I hear within the party that they say this is not the person I wanted and I don't know how I will do it with my vote", was the red line that Rama set for his people.
The majority leader then demanded maximum commitment to protect the result of the 2021 elections in Berat.
Five MPs is the objective that must be achieved according to the head of government. Rama expressed that he really likes the number 5, saying that rivals should be outnumbered " exactly 5 to 1 ".
"We actually have 6-7 possibilities on the list for 6 seats and it is absolutely meaningless to say no to this one. Moreover, we have respected all municipalities, ages and genders, and the needs of the community to be represented. I want to tell the mayors that they must be at the disposal of the SP. They must be at the disposal of number 5 and I liked the five a lot because it is exactly 5 to 1 ," said Rama.
