The CEC boxes were added to 13,000 envelopes with ballots in the last 24 hours, arrived from Albanians in the diaspora. The postal operator landed the plane in Rinas to bring the political will of Albanians living abroad, who were registered for the May 11 parliamentary elections.
The total number of ballots received by the CEC is around 157 thousand, with the most recent shipment coming from Albanians in Greece, the country in which political parties have had the most complaints regarding the postal service.
The deadline to return ballots in Albania is legally considered May 11 at 7:00 PM, but for some countries, this Wednesday may also mark the end of voting time.
This is because, based on the CEC contract with the postal operator, it takes one to three days to return ballots to European countries, while for other continents, it takes five days, which means that for some of the emigrants, the necessary space to return the envelope with the ballot on time has been closed.
