The "Albania Becomes Initiative" has today accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of threatening and intimidating voters. In a statement distributed by the media, this coalition reminds the head of government that he is using the methods of organized crime to minimize the opposition's results.
"For the last two days, Prime Minister Rama has criminally interfered in the election campaign by repeating a threat to Albanians in the form of "If you do not vote for the Socialist Party, do not leave your homes to vote!" Mr. Prime Minister, we do not know the troubles of your mind, but we are letting you know that the repeated call to citizens not to go out to vote is a form of intimidation that contradicts democracy and the electoral code. We are also reminding you that you are consuming one of the two ways that organized crime uses to help the parties in power to minimize the results of the opposition. This form that crime uses is precisely the intimidation or even the threat of opposition voters, in order for them not to leave their homes at all on election day."
The "Albania Becomes Initiative" coalition also calls on the Prime Minister of all Albanians to stop the language of intimidation and invites Albanian citizens to come out en masse to vote without any fear or uncertainty.
"To vote without fear, because fear has died along with communism, to vote with their eyes open and to vote to get a result where their vote has weight." (A2 Televizion)
