The process of organizing the parliamentary elections of May 11 has been placed under monitoring by the OSCE/ODIHR. The head of this monitoring mission in Tirana, Ambassador Lamberto Zannieri, began his new assignment by meeting with the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, who informed the diplomat about the measures taken so far. “During the meeting, we presented a complete picture of the preparations for the elections of May 11, 2025, the registration process and the progress of the external voting process and addressed all issues of interest. The discussion also focused on measures to guarantee the integrity of the process and the transparency of the electoral administration.” The organization of electoral processes has not been a rosy story in Albanian politics, where accusations of electoral crimes have never been absent. Faced with such political polarization, Celibashi informed the ODIHR mission about the tripartite cooperation between the CEC-SPAK-Prosecutor General.

"We informed in detail about the institutional efforts together with SPAK and the General Prosecutor's Office to combat electoral crimes and avoid the use of state resources in the campaign. The CEC remains committed to a transparent and credible electoral process!"

The ODIHR Head of Mission also met with other CEC officials, as well as with Foreign Minister Igli Hasani.  (A2 Televizion)
