Pensions with Italy, Rama appreciates Meloni's help: I agreed with my

The agreement between Albania and Italy on social security, which has been approved by both countries and will pave the way for benefits for 4,000 Italian citizens and around 500,000 Albanians living in the neighboring country, was one of the points on which Prime Minister Edi Rama focused during his speech at the meeting with Albanian emigrants in Milan.

Referring to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as his "sister", Rama said that the two agreed to reach a pension agreement.

"You waited and after we agreed with my sister in Rome, you still expected that the law should be made, it will be signed here and there, Italian history and only three days ago the last document was signed," said Rama.

To return to his campaign slogan, which is related to Albania's membership in the EU in 2030, the head of government said that with a European passport in their pocket, Albanians would not go through such hardships to benefit from a pension in any of the member countries of the union.

"If we had the EU passport, Albanians, you would not need any kind of recognition from the Italian government and with the EU passport our brothers and sisters in Greece would automatically become equal citizens in the EU. That passport is automatic recognition of pensions, of every right that Italians and other EU citizens have. Even today, despite the fact that you may have been in Italy for years, because you do not have an Italian passport, you have to enter from the next line there, no you have permission no you do not have permission, while with that passport you will enter everywhere just like Italians", declared the Prime Minister.
