The Socialists' political offer for social protection aims to promote employment and double the budget for children with special needs, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated during a meeting held in Burrel.

"We double support for children with special needs and their mothers."

Rama also touched on pensions, acknowledging that the main battle remains. The minimum pension is 200 euros and the average is 400 euros.

The socialist leader emphasized that the baby bonus program will be redesigned. Instead of financial assistance by check, monthly payments will be made for a period of two, three and five years, based on the number of children.

"We will redesign the baby bonus program starting in 2026, and instead of financial assistance by check, we will move forward with another more advanced scheme based on the number of children, with monthly payments for two, three and five years. Based on the number of children, we will be closer to those who make the most."

Acknowledging that there is still work to be done on social policies, according to Rama, his government in 2024 has made it possible for poverty in Albania to be reduced by 20%.
