Prime Minister Edi Rama has returned to labeling men, after the uproar he caused in public opinion with the term "çyryk" that he used to refer to 50% of the male gender at an electoral meeting in Dibër a few days ago.
This time in Vlora, Rama initially blamed the men of this region as a stain, if, as he said on May 11, the coastal district did not break an electoral record with votes for the Socialist Party and the confidence to enter Albania into the EU.
"On May 11th there is a message for the people of Vlora, all of Albania has problems, all of Albania's cities have problems, but I tell you that in every city I go to, they ask me if our city will become like Vlora. I know one thing: 'If there are male and female voters who should go to vote on voting day, they are the men and boys of Vlora, and then definitely the women and girls'. If you want more for Vlora, I want more from Vlora on May 11th. I have the absolute conviction that if Vlora, beyond all others, is held to have a sense of history, you must prove that sense and today, when on May 11th Albanians go to meet history. On May 11th, the Socialist Party will win throughout Albania, in some districts it will break records. In the elections for Europe, if Vlora does not break records, it will be the shame of all those men who do not go to the polls," said Rama.
The majority leader underlined that Albania's membership in the EU is the only guarantee not to violate equality before the law and recalled that the "sword" of fair punishment was left in the hands of the Special Prosecutor's Office by the political force he leads.
"Albania today is not what it was, justice in Albania is not what it was. Altin Dumani and others who have become part of this new moment of justice were there but were disarmed. What the SP did, what our majority in parliament and government did thanks to the support it received from the people is historic. By handing over the sword of justice, we accepted all the costs that would come. This is the main reason why Albanians, even beyond the borders, must support this political force. Because today, the only guarantor for this is the SP. I say to all those who have a vote, to all parents, that if you want to give your children something that our parents could not give us, you have the opportunity to do so by giving them a European passport. That passport comes as a result of Albania's membership in the EU. This is the only guarantee and let whoever wants come to the government in Albania and they can no longer violate equality before the law", declared Rama. (A2 Televizion)
