During a meeting with the Albanian diaspora in Thessaloniki, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, called for mass participation in the May 11 elections. Describing it as a "decisive day for the salvation of Albania," the democratic leader invited emigrants to return to their homeland.
"The stance of Albanians on May 11 is savior, it is decisive for the present and future of our nation."
Berisha denounced Edi Rama's regime, accusing it of plunging the country into poverty, the mass exodus of Albanians, and the destruction of the education and health systems. He cited the closure of schools due to lack of students, the devaluation of the euro, and corruption in public tenders.
"Albania has never had such underground and aboveground wealth, but today it is being stolen by government officials and traffickers," Berisha said.
He stated that Albanians in the diaspora have a key role in changing the situation and invited them to return and invest in their homeland.
"So, I am here to invite you, every immigrant and expatriate in Greece and wherever you are, planning to return to Albania. Invest in Albania. I promise you that for the first 5 years you will have no taxes."
Among his main promises are increasing the minimum wage to 500 euros, minimum pensions to 200 euros, eliminating taxes for new investors from the diaspora for 5 years, and facilitating the import of vehicles into Albania tax-free.
"Sign on May 11 to overthrow the narco-state and restore democracy to the country," said Berisha. (A2 Televizion)
