Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the regional conference "Accelerating Childcare Reforms towards European Union Membership", stated that the Ministry of Education is working to increase the number of special teachers in schools.
"The EU has designated special funding that helps member states to move on the predetermined tracks through the European guarantee document and implement concrete measures to reduce child poverty and, on the other hand, to narrow the gap that is extremely worrying throughout the European space, especially as a result of the blow that the pandemic dealt to the social fabric a few years ago. Here, the special EU funding is related to the active involvement of governments and to building partnerships with non-governmental organizations and to improving educational, social and health infrastructure and support programs for parents. In these areas, we have made significant progress, a secure base to build further, aiming to actively benefit from EU funding," said Rama, writes A2.
The Prime Minister added that "one of the points where we aim to make a quantitative and qualitative leap in financing and organization is to address the situation of 16 thousand children with special abilities, who are beneficiaries of new support schemes, but who at this stage and in the conditions when our economic opportunities are increasing, deserve increased support from us."
"An increase in support that is not simply financial, but also institutional. For this, the Ministry of Health and Education is working to increase the number of special teachers, just as yesterday we opened a new chapter in our health service system with the opening of the first classes for children in the hospital, teaching and art classes, which serve children so that they do not lose contact with learning, but serve them through a special curriculum to be energized with faith and the conviction that they will succeed in the battle of their illnesses", Edi Rama further emphasized.
