The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, speaking at the Diaspora Summit, which is being held in Tirana, said that the Albanian diaspora is the pillar of the national movement for freedom and independence of Albanians.
According to Osnan, despite the challenges and difficulties they have faced, the strong connection with the country of origin, respect for tradition, made them never turn their backs on the homeland.
The head of state of Kosovo did not hesitate to mention artists, footballers and all other Albanians around the world, who regardless of where they live or what they do, wherever they are, never forget that they are Albanians.
"I am honored to be here today in Tirana, in the city that usually gathers us Albanians wherever we are. The Albanian mergata is a symbol of stability, strength and unwavering spirit of the Albanian people.
Albanians have left traces in the countries they emigrated to, but always preserving their foundations and roots. Despite the challenges faced by the Albanian diaspora, it has remained deeply connected to the country.
Despite the challenges and difficulties they have faced, the strong connection with the country of origin, the respect for tradition, made them never turn their backs on the homeland.
We must not forget that our brothers and sisters in Preševo, Medvegja and Bujanoc continue to face systematic discrimination, which also results in ethnic cleansing through administrative means. As we always say today: You are not alone! We are all with you for the protection of the rights of Albanians.
Therefore, even in this cause for their protection, we must be one.
Albanian migration is the pillar of the national movement for freedom and independence of Albanians. They are a source of strength for us in the direction of democracy, freedom and strengthening of state-building and prosperity of our people.
This emigration made it possible to keep alive the political idea of the freedom and independence of our people. Their path is one with the destiny of the country.
It is not only individuals, but there are also many associations that gather Albanians around the world. Nothing proves the strong ties to the roots more than our Arbëresh people, who preserved the language and tradition for centuries.
Today we have many reasons to be proud as Albanians, from Dua Lipa to Rita Ora and many other artists who have made us very proud. Up to the footballers, and many, many others in different sports, regardless of the teams where they played, our hearts beat the same as theirs", said the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, among other things in her speech.
