After the call of the embassies in our country for dialogue between the parties in the Assembly, Gazment Bardhi, head of the Democratic Party group, said that there is no reflection from the majority. Invited to the Debate at 19:00 on A2 CNN with journalist Bruna Çifligu, Bardhi said that the majority not only did not reflect, but added "violence" to the opposition, and why, according to him, the latter is ready for dialogue.
"It is the most normal thing that when the opposition demands a right of its own, the majority says I am sitting down to listen to it, but not only is it not sitting down, but the measures are increasing to deny more of the opposition's rights", said Bardhi.
Passing the 2024 draft budget without dialogue, in less than 5 minutes, Bardhi said that the opposition does not feel any moral responsibility, because the parliament is not functioning as it should. He adds that he would be responsible if the Assembly would function according to the law and if the opposition would remain silent. However, according to him, such a thing did not happen, but the majority completely ignored their proposals.
"We would feel moral responsibility if we allowed the passage of the budget without debate if the situation in the Assembly was normal, in an assembly where the opposition is denied the minimum rights, you expect the majority to reflect on the reflections made by the opposition, if not recognize the minimum rights, not for us to give ideas and for the majority to reflect and take into account our proposal, it has been questioned whether we are dealing with a dictatorial or normal parliament", said Bardhi.
In more than a month of protests, Bardhi lists what the opposition has achieved so far.
"We made the Albanian citizens aware, but also the international factor, that the situation in the Assembly is not what it should be. To make the public aware that this man has decided to dissolve the parliament, dissolve the opposition, possibly appoint an opposition as he wants and present the situation to the world that Albania is a democratic country and we have the duty to reflect that this is not the reality", he added on A2 CNN.
