The Democrats do not oppose the decision signed by Edi Rama to declare Donald Trump's son-in-law's company, which will develop a luxury hotel project on Sazan Island, a strategic investor. The statement came from the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during a communication with his supporters on social networks.
"Since at least 2001 until today, Sazani has been offered to foreign businessmen periodically. This is the next offer, which Edi Rama undoubtedly made to buy political influence. But, an offer that meets legal rules, we have stated that we do not oppose offers that are based on respecting the laws and regulations of the country," Berisha said, reports A2 CNN.
Berisha described the kneeling that Prime Minister Edi Rama made to his Italian counterpart Meloni the day before as disgusting theater. "Disgusting theater, but don't be surprised, Edi Rama is capable of making any decision or gesture to strengthen his connections and power, no matter how little."
Berisha was also asked about the refusal of new political parties to join forces with the Democratic Party in the elections. "These political forces are placed in the function of opposition parties, let the citizens judge them, but it is not a worthy role, it is compromising."
