Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that only the Socialist Party can bring Albania into the European Union.
Rama made the comments during a meeting with young people in Elbasan, where he said that it is enough to physically see the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, to understand that he cannot be welcomed with open arms by the EU.
He also added that there are 1,000 boys and girls working on the negotiation process, as according to the Prime Minister, there are many EU laws and regulations that need to be adapted to our country's legislation.
"But there is no need to ask the EU, it is enough to know a little bit of our contemporary history. It is enough to see the owl, to see it physically like this. Can you imagine being welcomed with open arms in the EU? It is impossible. Neither the owl, nor the entire swamp kennel have any chance at all to be respected, valued, trusted, as we have managed to raise the level of respect and trust for Albania.
"We were here before they came, who were much better off, and Albania was a despised being. There are 1,000 girls and boys who work every day for the negotiations. There are a quarter of a million pages, laws and regulations that need to be taken," Rama said, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
