Socialist Party candidate, Edlira Durmishi, in the 'Off the Record' studio with journalist Andrea Danglli on A2 CNN, spoke about a photograph of Prime Minister Edi Rama several years ago, where he appears stepping on the carpet of a Muslim believer while the latter was praying.
Wanting to somehow justify the Prime Minister's action, Durmishi said that Edi Rama has changed his stance on Islam and for this she also quotes some of his words.
"The fact that you told about a photograph of Rama stepping on the carpet of a believer who was praying... is from about 12 or 15 years ago. Einstein says only the crazy do not change.
It's a fact, but it was 20 years ago. After 20 years, this gentleman is saying this lady who is a practicing believer, I want her on my electoral lists.
I am very honored to be on open lists, because if I were on closed lists I would be read as a militant.
Rama said, "I was the person who had this negative idea about Islam and Muslims, and I vomited this when I went to Kuwait and saw the model of Islam there," Durmishi said. (A2 Televizion)
