The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has stated that the Democratic Party has a plan to reduce housing prices.
Berisha made the comments during his speech in a statement to the media, where he said that this can be achieved through the infrastructure impact tax, which according to him will be reduced from 18% of the sales price to 2% of the budget.
Berisha also said that with the DP coming to power, a flat 10% tax will be imposed on capital and income from work, with the exception of the first 50,000 lek, which according to him will not be taxed.
Excerpt from Berisha's speech:
Economy, economy, economy is the program of Great Albania.
Intensive consultations have been held with businesses and interest groups, and they are reflected in our program.
So today I am presenting to you once again the complete Made in Albania program, the program that aims to promote production in Albania, to ignite the engines of production that are dying out, falling unstoppably from year to year.
In addition to the legal guarantees of a fiscal code that will be approved in three months and cannot be changed, unless it is eased, not burdened for business over the course of 4 years.
So, the fiscal code that will be approved in the first 3 months will not be able to be changed during the 4 years for burdens, but only for reliefs.
The number of different tax brackets will be reduced.
A flat 10 percent tax is imposed on capital, on income from work, with the exception of the first 50 thousand lek, which will not be taxed.
Flat tax of 10 percent on non-salary income.
Zero taxation for freelancers and small businesses.
Annual profit tax cap zero for small businesses.
The VAT exemption limit will be 18 million lek annual turnover.
VAT will be reduced to 15 percent, the 20 percent taboo will be removed.
The infrastructure impact tax will be reduced from 18 percent of the sales price to 2 percent of the estimate.
The fundamental cause of the skyrocketing prices in construction are the absurd taxes imposed on the construction area, which in fact, depending on the case, are at least 10 times the upfront tax and in other cases even 20 or 30 times it.
And all of this is billed to citizens, making it impossible for them to make purchases.
Or by turning apartments into forbidden apples.
Not only that, but this has a very strong impact on rents. And in the country with the lowest wages in Europe, rents are at their highest levels.
We radically change this situation.
The 3 percent social housing tax on the sales price is abolished. It will not exist.
The 1 percent development permit fee on the investment value is abolished.
The property revaluation fee will be reduced from 5 to 1 percent.
