The coordinator of the economic program in the Democratic Party, Dorjan Teliti, has stated that the new pension scheme, created in 2014 by the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama, has failed.

Teliti made the comments on 'Ditari i Mesditë' with journalist Denisa Pasholli on A2 CNN, where he said that the failure of the pension scheme has been acknowledged by the Rama government itself, which is its author.

He also said that the opposition's call before this scheme was created was to sit at a joint table for its implementation, as according to him, the pension scheme is valid for 3-4 decades and goes beyond political parties and their mandates, but according to Telit, the SP government did not take their requests into account.

"When the scheme that exists today was discussed, the opposition's call was, let's all make a scheme together. Let's sit down at the table with all Albanian politicians, because the pension scheme is neither 5 nor 10 years old, but for 3-4 decades and goes beyond political parties and their mandates. It even goes beyond a generation."

The fact that we are today stuck after 10 years, 2015-2025, where the government itself, the author who established the new pension scheme, admits that that scheme is no longer working. It accepts the fact that radical changes need to be made to this scheme. It has failed. In 2014, the deficit of the scheme was 315 million euros, while in 2025 it is predicted to be 500 million euros," Teliti said, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
