Democratic Party MP Gazmend Bardhi has spoken about an initiative to force MPs and ministers to declare whether they have used the Sky ECC platform, a well-known service for secured communications, which has been used by individuals linked to crime.
He emphasized that this initiative is necessary to show transparency and honesty in politics.
Bardhi clarified that he is not insisting that MPs and ministers have used Sky ECC for criminal purposes, but added that each of them must declare whether they have used this platform, regardless of private reasons. He emphasized that, as long as other state officials are forced to make this declaration, they must start from themselves and show a moral standard, writes A2 CNN.
According to him, this is a matter of honesty and it is right that those who are paid by citizens' taxes, such as a police officer, respect the same requirements for transparency and accountability.
"I'm not saying that the MPs used it for crimes. They may have used it for private reasons in their lives. But each of us will have to declare whether or not they used the Sky ECC platform. That's all. Those who have nothing to hide have nothing to fear. As long as we have imposed obligations on other state officials, we will have to start with ourselves. This is fair. As long as we oblige a police official who is paid 600 thousand old lek, we will have to start with ourselves. This is the moral standard," said Bardhi. (A2 Televizion)
